Coaching
My approach to coaching is to apply the best thinking in product strategy and apply it to you: understanding your aspirations (both professional and personal); your strengths and the challenges you face and then crafting a plan with you to help you move forward in right direction.
Depending on your exact situation, I’d recommend one of three ways we can work together.
90-day booster
Best for: change and transformation
When you’re either dealing with a significant change in your career or you want to create one.
An initial 90 minute session followed by weekly or fortnightly meetings over a three month period, with email or text support as needed during the period
Monthly check in
Best for: continuous improvement
When you need to find the time and space to step away from the day-to-day and take a more strategic view of your career and development.
An initial 2 hour session followed by 5 monthly sessions, with a focus on setting and delivering month-on-month improvements.
360 review
Best for: one-off assessment
When you need to take stock - see how others perceive you, and put in place an action plan to build on your strengths and focus on development areas.
1hr initial session, followed by a survey and a 2hr feedback session.

There are lots of coaches out there for product managers, and my strong suggestion is that you speak to a few before you decide which one is right for you.
As well as looking at their profile and any online content, you should definitely do a 30 minute discovery / chemistry call before signing up.
What I bring to the table is a ton of experience of different companies, different situations and different types of product managers. But book at free 30 minute call with me - and we’ll see if I’m the right coach for you.

While every individual is different, I think that when it comes to thinking about a plan for a career, it’s worth taking a similar approach to thinking about how you develop a product.
You need a vision for where you want to get to - that is both credible and ambitious (and captures things outside work as well).
You need to take stock of where you are - your strengths and your weaknesses
You need to know your 3 - 4 key areas of focus over the next 12 months: in order to make the most effective progress towards your vision.
You need a plan in place that will then track progress against and adapt where necessary.

No, I’m very happy to help Product Designers, Engineers and Project/ Program managers - especially those looking to step up their careers.
I’ve managed and developed people in all of those roles, but obviously I don’t have the same craft expertise with them as I do with Product Management.

Yes, I’m very happy to work on a team-wide basis. Just get in touch and let’s talk about what you need.

If you’re looking for someone specifically with B2B SaaS experience - then I’m probably not for you.
Also if you’re a recent graduate and you’re looking to break into Product Management, there are probably others who you will find a bit more relevant.
